An Intercity Bus travelling from Hamilton to New Plymouth crossed the road and a small channel before hitting a bank following, what appeared to be, a front-right tyre blow-out. The driver was flown by Taranaki Community Rescue Helicopter to Taranaki Base Hospital and 5 of the 13 passengers were transported by road ambulance with minor injuries.
